If your question is if your system is compatible with Nest Thermostat then yes, it's compatible with all models of Nest Thermostat. Here's the setup steps you need:

The T-stat thinks I have a heat pump and turns on the A/C when in heat mode. Blows cold. I set up as single fuel and rest twice.

@ScottFleck

Was this working before the error message?

The M20 error means no voltage is sent to the C or R wires, and you can check for 24vac between R and C if you have a multimeter. If there is nothing, then the problem is with the unit.

If there is no voltage, then check these things

  • The unit breaker isn't tripped
  • The fuse on the control board in the furnace
  • The drain isn't clogged, causing the safety switch to trip.
  • The filter is clean and installed correctly
  • All of the unit covers are correctly installed

I never had any codes. A/C runs when I turn the heat on. That’s the only problem.
The previous t-stat is on it now so I can have heat. The whole system works perfectly with the old one.

Everyone asks a second question, I answer and then no response. This is by far the worst customer support team I have ever encountered.
