it is yes, but im reading it may need a certain module or add on to make this work with a nest. this is why im asking

We cannot say that they are or are not compatible depending on the type of boiler, but if your boiler is OpenTherm by default and if the compatibility checker said that is compatible, then it is compatible.

so there is no one on this community that knows anything about these boilers, or do i just get general similar answers

My team is specifically trained to offer support on thermostat-related issues. We do not have expertise in providing support on boilers. We can tell you what we know about the thermostat and what is compatible with, we can't tell you if it is compatible with a specific boiler, we can tell you if it is compatible with the system you have. You mentioned you have a boiler with OpenTherm by default, in that case the Nest is compatible with it. I'll leave you here a link about OpenTherm and what Nest thermostats can do with it.
