c wire addition

I have a nest 3rd gen thermostat.  I recently moved into a new house and tried to transfer my thermostat to the new house. 1st problem, I keep losing power and need to recharge every other  day because I lose wifi connetion. I tried moving the g wire to the common but when I did that, I started getting an e103 on my yellow wire. I have switched back to my original set up but still run out of power every few days. What's the solution??

Without the C wire the thermostat can't charge it's battery unless your HVAC system is actively heating or cooling. Your only choice is to either run an additional C wire from the thermostat back to the HVAC system or pick up the C wire power adapter (https://store.google.com/product/nest_power_connector?hl=en-GB).

Here is an article from Honeywell on how the c wire works that may be of some help to you. https://www.honeywellhome.com/us/en/support/everything-you-need-to-know-about-a-c-wire/
