can't get entry key older version nest thermometer connected another phone

have older Nest thermostat connected to my phone.  Can't connect to wife's.  Gone through all steps but when I click on the "nest app" button all it says is nest app is connected.  No entry key so I can't connect second phone.  Help, my wife says I have all the fun.

Sorry to hear you have been having trouble getting your wife's phone linked to the account. Let's jump in and see if we can get that connected. I did find a helpful article that provides some troubleshooting steps and details on how to add another person. Let me know if that helps.

I have the same issue with an older Nest Thermostat. Purchased a new Phone and when I try and add a product to the app, the thermostat will not show an entry key.  I follow directions and open the settings and then the Nest app, but I cannot get the entry key. Both my phone app and Nest thermostat are running the updated versions.

I can't find the entry key as well. The thermostat is working but trying to set it up without  an entry key is frustrating. Can you help?
