gen3 thermostat black screen blinking green the red

I turned my nest off because the weather was nice for a few days, this morning I went to turn it on. on my app it said it was off line. So I went to the thermostat and the screen is black with a tiny green light flashing. I've tried charging it and plugging it back in. not luck. It's about 5 yrs old. Also my ac is kicking  on for a second then off. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

• What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
• Does the display turn on when you charged it?
