When I go through this forum, I see many, many people asking Nest to address the dead band/hysteresis of these devices. I was just told by a very unhelpful call centre agent that this is only available with the most recent device. Am I being unreasonable, expecting that such an expensive sophisticated device should just be able to put out a software update and fix this for many, many people who have asked over the years?? We installed a heat pump at our house in Ottawa, Canada. This is going to be the future way to heat homes. Heat pumps work best when you keep the temperature steady, not when it goes up and down by several degrees in a day. PLEASE NEST, address this with an update, and to the moderators, PLEASE don't close this thread until the update is completed.

@Limbo ,
simply disable the Home/Away feature and the Nest will not enter ECO mode when leave the house. The the end result will be that your temperature will remain at the setting on the display when you leave the house. you can also set the ECO heating temperature to match what you want the house to remain at so it never falls below that temperature

Thanks - already disabled. it’s not that. This is a known issue, if you browse around.
