iPhone Nest App

My nest app will not change heat/cool mode or change temp.   When I change settings on the device the App shows it correctly, but the app will not control the thermostat

  1. Ensure that your mobile device and the thermostat are connected to the internet. A stable internet connection is crucial for the app to communicate with the thermostat.
  2. Make sure you have the latest version of the Nest app installed on your device. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that could address the problem you're facing
  3. Close the Nest app completely, and then reopen it. Sometimes, restarting the app can help refresh the connection and resolve temporary glitches
  4. Try restarting your Nest Thermostat by going to the device settings. Turn it off, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on. This can often solve minor connectivity issues.
  5. Verify that the thermostat itself is not in an unusual state. Ensure it is set to the correct mode (heat/cool) and that the desired temperature settings are as intended.
  6. If the issue persists, you may need to unlink and then reconnect your thermostat in the Nest app. Follow these steps:
    1. Remove the thermostat in the Nest app.
    2. Go to the thermostat's Reset settings.
    3. Select Account Connection and then reset to confirm.
    4. Reconnect it back to the Wi-Fi network and proceed by adding it to the app.
