i have single stage heat pump with two stage dual fuel propane. i have 7 wires. i wired it up how my 3rd gen was wired. but it doesn't seem right. when in the google home app i can't click on equipment to turn off heat pump balance. the thermostat isn't using my heat pump lock out temp. also the thermostat is saying there is no power on the * position. Im wondering if the * black wire needs moved. below is how i have it wired right now.

red-rc,           orange-ob,         green-g,          yellow-y1,         white-w2aux,         blue-c,            black-*

since you have a dual fuel system, you need to wire the thermostat slightly different than you currently have it. You need to put the white wire in W1 and the black wire which is your second stage heat into W2. You will need to change the configuration in the equipment setting to specify that you have dual fuel system. W1 and W2 should report as alternate heat.

Cooling wizard thanks for the help. I switched the two wires like you suggested. I looked down at the furnace to make sure of the connections there. They had never hooked up my black wire. So I hooked it up to w2 at the furnace itself. My question today is why the google app still won’t let me click on equipment under thermostat.

Your question about the google app is above my pay grade. Perhaps a Google Community Specialist can chime in and answer your software question.
