I hade my nest (gen 1) set up in google home so I could use the google voice control. I went into the nest app to look at the thermostat setting and it asked me to migrate it to google account so I did. Now it isn't set up in google home anymore!
I hate Google, I had my google wifi set up until they discontinued that app and now I can't set up wifi in home either. That's a different subject though.
For the nest I need a code. there is no code on my nest that I can find and yes I read the post about the gray rubber ring. Mine doesn't have any gray rubber ring so I don't know what that is talking about. I had a QR code on a separate piece of paper ( another dumb way of doing things although that was nest not google) but of course after years I no longer have that.
I'm probably just screwed because Google can't seem to come up with a decent way of migrating things it already knows about!!! If I migrated it to my google account why can't it just get the info from that? Actually I don't know if it can or not. I tried to set it up using the "works with google" option instead of just adding it directly. problem there is I have to sign into nest where I don't know my password and the password reset function doesn't send the email it is supposed to. It tells me if I migrated nest to my google account I might need to used my google account to login but it doesn't give me the option to use the google account.
So anyone know how I can get nest to sign on using my google account or get them to actually send the password reset email?

What exact thermostat do you have?
The Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E are installed in the Google Nest app and then should AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app. The Nest Thermostat is installed in the Google Home app and cannot be accessed from the Google Nest app. (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9274936)
If you had the Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E installed in the Google Nest app and you migrated your Nest Account to a Google Account, your thermostat should AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app. And once you've migrated, you then log into the Google Nest app with your Google (gmail) Account (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9297676).
However, in recent month many customers in this forum have reported this is not happening. Many of those have tried this workaround:
In the Google Nest app, create a new, temporary second Google Nest "home/structure". In the Google Home app, go to that new, empty second Google Nest "home/structure" and delete it. This apparently forces the 2 apps to sync and the thermostat appears in the Google Home app.
The "Works with Google" option is not used for Google Nest devices.
I hope this helps; I'm not clear about some aspects of your situation.
