nest themostat is night mare

I switched from my 20 year old thermostat...Directions that come with product are terrible...oh yeah go to app.

They ask for the number on the back of the devices which you have to keep unplugging and the number is light grey and you need a microscope to read it

Then you program on the app and when you try to manually change the  temp you have to get you finger perfectly on the invisible adjustment area. And if you decide you wanted 65 instead of 66 you have to go thru the process again. Call customer service and they will say what is the number that you cannot read because it is so small and light grey. Will be putting the old one back in . If you have someone at your house. you need to give them a class how to operate. Not sure who came up with this user unfriendly product..but they are out of touch....

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that you had a hard time checking the entry key of your Nest Thermostat. If you can't get the entry key for your Nest Thermostat, you have another option to scan the QR code of your Nest Thermostat instead, which you can follow here in Troubleshoot QR code scanning with your phone’s camera. If the entry key is really needed, you may use your phone to take a photo of the back part of your Nest Thermostat, then zoom out the photo to read.
