nest thermostat 3rd gen stuck on house logo

My nest is stuck on the house logo and my only option to get heating is to use the heatlink (put in manual mode).

I've tried restarting the nest and restarting my router (everything else in the house is connected to wifi ok)

help please

To confirm, how did you perform this reset? Make sure that you have followed these steps. 

Restart or reset the Nest Learning Thermostat manually. 

• Press the thermostat down until the screen turns off (about 10 seconds), then release.
• Press and release the ring to turn the screen back on and complete the restart process. The screen will show the Nest logo, then turn on as it finishes.
