Hi all,
My google thermostat 3rd gen which is less than a year old lost connection to the wifi. After following the troubleshoting I contacted google and they sent me a new thermostat.
This is where the problem starts.
I deleted the old thermostat from the app. Connected the new one to the base and now I can´t connect it to the old link.
I can´t find a step by step instruction on replacing the thermostat. Can anyone help me? What did I do wrong. Do i need to delet any information on my old thermostat before sending it back to google or do I just delet it from the app (which I already done).
When I try to connect the new one I keep getting H71 error now in both thermostats.
I don't know what else to do. I want to avoid paying someone to come and have a look at it.
The light on the link is flashing blue, so, ready to connect, but nothing happens.
Many thanks.

You should just be able to go to Settings in the Nest app > Add product and follow the instructions to add it to the app. When prompted, enter the pairing code from the Heat Link in the thermostat display.

Thanks for reaching out to us here @rbessa90 . I am sorry to hear you are facing difficulties with the replacement.
To confirm, do you still have the old unit at the location? If so, can you try and set it back up to see if it is able to connect to the Heat Link.

How did you get ahold of Google. My thermostat won't turn the heat on unless I stand by the thermostat and the light comes on

Hi @Deacon38 . Me and my colleagues can offer assistance here. We also have contact channels on phone, chat, email and social media, although some of these may not be available depending on your region.
What model of thermostat do you have at the location from our available ones?
You can see all our contact options on the Google Nest Help contact us page. Just make sure that you select the correct region at the bottom with special mention that if you are in the US you should select English and if you are in the UK, English (United Kingdom).
