trying to figure out why my nest is not cooling and if the wiring was done correctly according pics

My contractor tried to connect Nest for me and for some reason it's not cooling, could anyone please look at the before and after wiring pics and tell me where we are wrong? and if it's a wiring issue?

Thanks for reaching out. Based on your photos, it looks like you have stranded wires. This type of wiring isn't compatible with the Nest Thermostat. You may try to contact a local pro to cap, solder or replace stranded wires with a solid core wire, which will work with the Nest thermostat. The method may depend on your local electrical code requirements.
