Connecting Hue Bridge through Google Wifi device

Hi I have a Google Wifi (Gen 1)  in a modem/router connection. I have Philips Hue Bridge which I connected to this Google Wifi through ethernet, and the Hue light ups says there is a network and internet connection. Yet when I try to discover it, it is not findable. I made sure my phone is on the same Google Wifi network. Is there something else I should try? Not sure if this is a Wifi or Hue problem either.

Are you trying to connect to the Hue with the Philips Hue app? 
Or are you trying to set up a connecting from the Home app? 🙂

Yes! Since this is the first Hue device I was trying to do it through the Philips Hue app which tells me it can’t find it.

Did you press the button on the Hue bridge itself while searching for it?
