Rainbow ISP uses PoE without a traditional modem, Nest Wi-Fi router can't connect to internet. Nest Wi-Fi router can not complete initial setup due to PoE from ISP.

I've got an unacceptable workaround that gets to root cause of issue. My workaround: Rainbow ISP PoE ethernet connected an old Belkin router ethernet connected to Nest Wi-Fi router. This workaround allowed Nest router and Nest Points to update firmware. After the latest firmware updates, I removed Belkin router and direct connected Nest Wi-Fi router to PoE. After resetting all hardware, again Nest could not connect to internet. To confirm this solution, I purchased a second Nest Wi-Fi and had exact same results. This is an unacceptable workaround to use a 10 year old router to handle the PoE connection. I live in a rural location thus have limited ISP options. I hope a firmware fix can enable PoE capability. Since return time windows are short I returned both Nest Wi-Fi systems.
