Google Nest Wifi

Hi I have a need to extend my existing Google network. I currently have Model HD2 in my home. The tech at Best Buy said they did not have that any longer and said that model GJ2CQ replaced it. I explained that I wanted to use this as an extender, he said it should be fine. In my current setup There are specific extender and router modules. Not sure this newer one operates the same.

When adding the device in Google Home App, It connected to the device but is asking me to plug into my routers wan port, This will not be the main router connection, how can I make this be en extender module? Or can’t I? Will /i have to use my existing router module as an extender and use this new model as the router port? O am I not able to mix these two generations?

Google Wifi and Nest Wifi are compatible. However, the latest Nest Wifi Pro units can't be combined with Nest Wifi routers or points or Google Wifi points.
