Google Wi-Fi Point won’t finish setup

I did a full factory reset on the Google Wi-Fi point, I even done that to my router. It will connect to the Wi-Fi. It will connect to the Internet at the end of the set up for finalizing it won’t. I got them from my friends friend, he said that it’s not on his Google home account. So I’m really stumped.

Hi @MamaBear121424!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Google WiFi point won’t finish set up. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • How many Google WiFi devices do you have?
  • Did you try to set up the points wirelessly or through a wired connection?
  • What's the color of the lights on the parent and child points?
  • Does the child point broadcast the setup Service Set Identifier (SSID) or network name located at the bottom of the device?
  • Is the child point within the recommended distance from the parent point? The recommended distance is between 20 to 25 feet (6 to 7 meters).
  • Do you have any switches in your network setup?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Geremi
