Google WiFi, Verizon 5G LV65 receiver, bypass Verizon CR1000A router

I recently installed Verizon 5g home internet.  I have the newer LV65 receiver and separate CR1000A router combination.  Has anyone bypassed the CR1000A router and plugged Google WiFi directly into the router port of the LV65 receiver?  If so, were there any configuration changes need on Google WiFi?

According to this user on Reddit you can use your own router directly to LV65 after your internet connection has been activated.
