OK -
Christmas gift to improve my parents internet in the sticks - Google Wifi 3-Pack (BNIB - never used).
Pixel 5 phone w/ Google Home app to pair.
My understanding is it doesn't matter which "puck" or node to use as the router. I connected one, eventually (after much frustration) to register and create the home network successfully. Less than 30 feet (three sets of walls with a sufficiently "great" wifi signal), I cannot get the last 2 "pucks" to completely register in app.
I've manually factory reset the nodes repeatedly and cannot get them to register to the router. Continually getting something has gone wrong as the registration process or "meshing" is finishing.
Note: Was successful originally with 2 of the three nodes, one gave me an aneurysm and I figured I had done something wrong. Manually Factory Reset (button on bottom) to get all reset to Pulsing Blue status light. Took forever to get the main router to register, cannot get nodes past Creating The Mesh Point.
Caveat: They currently have EXTREMELY poor internet - we're talking like 56.6k on a satellite (until the new year, they are getting FIber) and thats the only thing I can see thats causing this issue is a lack of available internet bandwidth to register the points.
Am I crazy or on to something here?

56.6kbps speeds? Wow.
First thing a new set of pucks will do is to try to auto download new firmware. It's probably in the range of 50 to 500 MB in size (I have no exact number). Times three.
Maybe try set each up as primary at a different location, let them update too latest firmware (https://support.google.com/googlenest/topic/7681483?hl=en), then factory reset (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6246619?hl=en) and bring back.

Hi, everyone.
Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.
Thanks.

Apologies for the late reply. The mesh pucks themselves are definitely reliant on pairing using a reliable high speed connection for sure.
2nd generation satellite internet (spotty at best) was the previous service. Base unit paired with time. The mesh pucks didn't.
Upgraded to a base fiber 50/50 internet service. Instant detection, pairing and completion.
Turns out you need to have good internet to make network work.
Thanks everyone!
