Google WiFi router connecting 2ns routing using LAN?

TM3SRP

Hello,

I have the original 2016 Gen 1 model google WiFi mesh router. A single unit.  I live in a 2 story concrete home.  WiFi router on ground floor. Upper floor has WiFi connectivity issues.

Can I buy a 2nd google WiFi mesh router to connect to 1st mesh router using LAN cables instead of WiFi? Or both routers can only be connected via WiFi?

Thanks for any response!

Hello @TM3SRP

Yes – you can connect a secondary Google WiFi unit on the upper floor to the LAN Ethernet port on the primary Google WiFi unit on the ground floor. This is highly recommended in a concrete home, especially if it also has concrete floors. Here's a more detailed support article: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7215624?hl=en
