Google WiFi speed issue

avnsss
Community Member

I use a 200Mbps connection at home. After configuring Google WiFi the speed dropped down to 90Mbps max. Where I can achieve full speed on my ISP provided router.

Help me in this regard.

Hi avnsss,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Google Wifi. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • Could you try doing a speed test while connected directly to your ISP modem?
  • Are there any nearby devices that would cause interference?
  • How many Google Wifi points do you have?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward

Hi Edward!

Thanks for your reply. Now I am having 4 WiFi points configured(including the master). When done the speed test connected to ISP modem, it shows full speed of 215 Mbps everytime when I tested. There are no any other devices that would interfere with the router signal.

Thank you once again Edward! Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi avnsss,

Thanks for the response. Is your ISP router also broadcasting a Wi-Fi signal? If so, I would suggest setting it to bridge mode. You can click on this link to learn more about this.

Thanks,

Edward
