Hello, I’ve had a Google WiFi mesh in my home for a number of years with no issue. Since Google no longer supports the app, I am trying to add the mesh network to the Google Home app. It doesn’t show up as a recognized devise when I try to integrate it. I don’t want to unplug it and reset it as a new devise add because I have numerous devices associated with the mesh network. Any help appreciated

We don't have Google WiFi, but is this at all helpful?

Nope, was never able to integrate my Google Wi-Fi with Google Home. I really don’t want to unplug the mesh network and reset it back up to try and see if that works, as one of the Google Wi-Fi units is acting as a router for the home. At this point I just deleted the Google Home app

Hey Anthem,
Were you using the WiFi app to migrate to Home using the prompt it gives inside the app itself, or were you trying to add the device directly from Home? I understand you're frustrated, but I would be happy to look at this deeper with you to get you sorted out. There's so much more you can do in the Home app now.
Thanks,
Jeff

The Wi-Fi app is virtually non existent, as there’s nothing you can see or do with it. I was using the Home app. Tried to add existing devise, nothing found. Tried new devise, not listed in supporting devises

Hey Anthem,
Without the Home app installed, management will be pretty minimal, as you've seen. I know the process seems cumbersome to set the network up as new again, but I do believe that's the next step for you to go with here. If you re-use the same network name and password, you won't need to set up your connected devices again. If you do decide to go through the network setup process again, let us know how it goes for you.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi again, Anthem.
I just wanted to follow up and see if you saw that last reply and to see what your thoughts were about continuing troubleshooting on this. Let me know if you want to keep looking into things.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff
yes I saw your post, just haven’t decided to unplug what’s currently working fine. Just don’t understand why the Home app can’t recognize a Google Wi-Fi mesh that’s already installed.
FYI, one Wi-Fi unit is connected to a modem and also a gigabyte switch. A second unit is also connected to that switch via a separate switch in another room. Those two units and switches have various hardware connected to them. The third unit is stand alone

I understand the hesitation to change anything that's working well, Anthem. You mentioned that you deleted the Home app. Have you tried re-installing it to see if it will recognize the device properly now?
Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff I tried numerous times when reinstalling the Home app. Still would not recognize Google Wi-Fi

Hey folks,
Thanks for the help, @Jeff.
@Anthem, are you using the same email address signed in your Wifi app to your Home app? After signing in the the Home app, skip the initial setup process and once you're on the homepage of the app, tap the Plus sign on the upper left.
Make sure you skip the initial setup process after installing the Home app as it will not detect the Google Wifi network.
Best,
Mel

Yes using the same email address. Don’t know what you mean about skipping the setup process. Have to use my email, location service and Bluetooth or the app won’t continue to install. There is no Google Wi-Fi listed on compatible devices

Hi Anthem,
Could you send a screenshot of that part of the app where it shows no compatible devices?
Best,
Mel

Don’t have permission to upload images. I hit the plus button, set up new devices, it looks for new devices, and finds nothing. Also tried setting up existing devices under Wi-Fi Google Wi-Fi is not on the list of devices.

Hey Anthem,
Please try these steps on the Google Wifi app:
Open the Google Wifi app.
Tap Menu and select your Wifi network.
Check if you can see something that says ‘Migrate network’. If you see it, tap on it and it should automatically go to the Google Home app if you have it installed.
Once you’re in the Google Home app, check if you can see something that says ‘Import network’.
We’ll wait for your update.
Regards,
Abi

Nothing on Google Wi-Fi app. “Import Network” is not an option on Google Home app

I want to thank those who have tried to help with integrating my Google Wi-Fi with the Google Home app, but I have spent enough time trying to get it to work and I’m done. Will be deleting the Home app and going back to individually controlling my devises through their respective apps
