Google nest wifi and iOS/iphone12

iPhone 12 devices are having issues on Google nest wifi. Whilst it is an apple issue it only seems to happen on Google nest wifi. I ran a ubitiqui access point as an alternate and the issue does not occur. There's a long Apple thread about the issue but my recent research has found the issue is mainly happening in Google wifi plus a couple of newer router models

The symptoms are that the phone connects and works fine for some time then without warning will no longer browse. There is no indication of an issue as the phone shows it is connected to wifi as does Google Home shown the phone connected. Turning wifi on and off on the phone addresses the issue until next time. This happens whilst browsing or streaming and also coming back from idle .

The fact that the older ubitiqui device has no issues suggests there is something in the nest wifi that does not play well with iOS. Interestingly the iPhone xs we had prior did not have this issue

Hi, Tonyholdgate.

We are actually aware of a bug with the Home app and iOS. I'm sorry that you're dealing with that right now, but we're working on improvements that should be rolling out soon. Also, thanks for sharing your experience, that helps our internal teams realize how widespread the issues are and how it's affecting our users. I'll share more information as it becomes available.

Thanks.
