Google points and audio playback muffling

Awful muffled audio coming out of my Points for the past month. This has never happened before. I’ve rebooted, restarted, removed and re-added every device and it’s pretty apparent this might be a FW issue. Noticed some other comments on this forum but seems there’s no work around because they’re closed out fast without resolution. 

I’d include a video but it looks like that’s not supported. Help!

Hi NotoriousHMB,

 

That certainly isn’t the experience we want you to have. Let’s check it out. How many Nest Wifi points have a muffled sound? Does it also crack or buzz? When does the muffled sound occur? Does it happen during basic commands or when playing music?

 

You can do a sequential reboot of your entire network and see if that helps, or please perform a 2-minute power cycle on your entire network to re-establish the connection on your connected devices. Here's how: 
 

  1. Disconnect the power from the modem.
  2. Disconnect the Ethernet cable and power cord from the parent point.
  3. Disconnect the power cord from the child points.
  4. Leave everything unplugged for 2 minutes.
  5. Connect the power cord to the modem then to your router and points.
  6. If the issue persists, factory reset your device.
