High Packet Loss From Nest Home Wifi

cschratz

I'm experiencing high packet loss (10-15%) over ethernet. I started noticing the issue as I was getting disconnected from gaming servers only momentarily before everything because stable again. The packet loss seems to be pretty consistent. Anyone else experience something similar? I did a reset (unplug, wait 5 minutes, plug-in) but this didn't seem to fix anything. This is very frustrating and I can't seem to get to the bottom of it.

Hey there cschratz,

Thanks for posting. I’m sorry to hear you’re having this issue. A quick question: what kind of Ethernet cable are you using? Is it CAT5e or CAT6?

Give these steps a try:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi > Settings > Preferred activities.
  3. Uncheck all the options in the page.
  4. After that, restart your entire network.

To restart your network:

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap Wi-Fi > Settings > Restart network.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Abi
