Is the Point connected ???

I am trying to determine remotely (with Google Home) if the Nest Point "Attic" is connected to the Nest WiFi "Basement".

Both Nest units are connected to individual home furnace controllers (BayWeb) via Ethernet and the "Attic" BayWeb controller is no longer accessible through the BayWeb internet portal.

As I said, remotely!  I am in Sweden and the system is in California.  I did try restarting the router in Home to no effect.

Thanks!

Hello Derek_Eder,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for this experience.

Based on the screenshot that you provided, it seems like the Google Nest Wifi point is no longer connected to the Google Home app. It should appear together with the Google Nest Wifi router under the Points tab. Please check if the Attic point is still showing on the Home screen of the Google Home app.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,
Lovely

A further question:

Can Nest Point devices not yet registered on the Home network be detected from physically outside the Wifi network range? (E.g., the Home is in California, I am in Sweden)

It appears that the Nest Point is no longer visible to Home.  If, this Point is physically functional but somehow "unregistered" from the Home network, I want to know of it should be visible to me. (It isn't)

Hi Derek_Eder,

If you've set up a Google Nest Wifi point in the Google Home app, as long as it is not removed or factory reset, it should still show up even if you're in a different country. Note: There's a small instance where the Nest Wifi point will be removed from the app due to app updates or bugs.

Regards,
Lovely

Let's assume that the Nest point was removed from my Home app (I now suspect that I removed it accidentally).  The Nest Point is still physically turned on.  Can I "see" this device as existing and add it to my Home?

I want to know

Hello Derek_Eder,

Removing your Google Nest Wifi point from the Google Home app will factory reset the unit since it will erase the previous settings on it. If the device is turned on and you're near it, you should get a notification to configure it; however, if the reset did not totally clear the setup in the cloud, you might need to manually factory reset it. Here's a guide to physically resetting the unit.

Sincerely,
Lovely
