Mesh WIFI intermittently goes off line

Hello

I have a 3 point Google mesh solution. Intermittently a point will go offline. The home hub when a mesh test is run will say everything is OK , however the point will state that its is not connected. The mesh will sometimes come back online , other times it  needs a reboot, I have done a complete factory reset 3 times . When the mesh is working all the points give a strong signal and service . The point failure is becoming more frequent. Any help welcome.
thanks Martin

Hi Martin4663,

Thanks for posting. I understand the situation you're experiencing with your mesh Wi-Fi network and one of your Google Wifi points intermittently going offline. I appreciate your efforts to troubleshoot the issue. Don't worry; help is here. I just need some information to provide the best solution.

  • What Google Wifi devices do you have? You can check the article "What Google Nest Wifi device do I have?" to learn more.
  • Are you using a modem, a separate router, or a modem/router combo unit from your internet provider?
  • Which of your three points is the one that typically goes offline? Is it always the same one, or does it vary?
  • Is the point that's having trouble located within the recommended 20 to 25 feet (6 to 7 meters) of one of the other working points?
  • What is the approximate size of the area (in square feet or meters) that you are trying to cover with your Google Wifi mesh?
  • When the point goes offline, what is the color and status of the light on that specific Google Wifi device?

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenny
