Mesh not working after WAN setting changes

deepdey

Hi

I changed my WAN settings from DHCP To PPPoE, got the user name password from my ISP for PPPoE.

 But ever since my google mesh is flashing amber. The WAN settings show as if it’s back to DHCP but no internet coverage via mesh.

please could someone  advise.

Hi deepdey,

Sorry about the connection issues you've had with your mesh network. Since you've made the change to PPPoE, it's worth checking to see if your ISP uses WPAD protocol on your modem. You can see in our WAN connection guide that WPAD is not supported: https://goo.gle/3wzUTN6. Check your modem's settings to see if this might be causing you some issues and let me know what you find. I look forward to helping you more on this.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi Jeff, just picked on this.

I will speak to my ISP and find out about WLPD. Will revert back on here soon.

Hi deepday,

I just wanted to follow up  and see if you had a chance to touch base with your ISP and to see if you were able to learn anything from them. If you're still waiting to speak with them, no worries, just let me know and we can keep the thread going for you.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi Jeff, sorry I couldn’t reply for so long;

Please can you keep this open for a few more days? Now since I am back home I would be speaking to the ISP and get this cleared.
