Nest WiFi + AT&T Fiber Help

Godspeed1s

I've had nest WIFI for a couple years with AT&T Fiber (1000 mbps) with no issues. I recently had to reset my network and my connection has been throttled down to 90-98 mbps. I've been following - https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Wifi/Google-WiFi-Gen-1-Throttling-Speeds-from-500-500-to...

and trying all of the suggestions there + this subreddit. I'm not getting any improvement. This is becoming a household issue because the baby monitors, streaming services, and personal devices are all affected. My wife is on my tail because we have an infant and toddler and buffering baby monitors with slow notification is far less than ideal. I don't want to shell out another few hundred for a mesh if I don't need to. Has anyone come across a solution to this problem and can explain it in a pretty clear way? Here's a screenshot of my router and nest information. the nest is connected directly to the at&t router.

Thanks for reading through this and for any help you can offer!

I'm in the same situation. About a week ago my 1 gig speed dropped from around 600-700 wireless connection to anywhere from 20-150 (speed tests) while still getting over 800 hard wired and really causing stuttering while scrolling, watching TV and video devices around the house. I went out and bought a 2 pack wifi pro bundle while coming from a Google WiFi and Google nest wifi. The new routers still have the same issues. This was also after the ISP came out to check their side. Google elevated my ticket yesterday after 2 days of trying different things to fix my issue.

Hello everyone,

@Godspeed1s, thanks for reaching out. This certainly hasn't been easy for both of you. If you haven't already, I suggest putting your BGW320-505 modem-router combo on bridge mode and seeing if that resolves your concern. Once done, perform a 2-minute power cycle. Here's how:

  1. Disconnect the power from the modem.
  2. Disconnect the Ethernet cable and power cord from the parent point.
  3. Disconnect the power cord from the child points.
  4. Leave everything unplugged for 2 minutes.
  5. Connect the power cord to the modem, then to your router and points.

@Geno911, I've checked the ticket that you filed here with us. It seems like it has been escalated with our senior specialist team. Alvin should be reaching out to you soon with recommendations from our specialists.

Let me know if you have other concerns.

Cheers,
Lovely

Hey Lovely,

I tried all of your suggestions. At this point should I open a ticket?

Hello there,

@godspeed, @Geno911, thanks for the update. If your Google Nest Wifi Pro devices are near Google Nest speakers or displays in your house, please try moving them farther from them to check if there are any improvements with the internet speeds. Make sure to also turn off Preferred Activities if you have one set up.

Keep me posted.

Sincerely,
Lovely

this did not work, preferred activities are off and there's no device interference

I have no nest speakers or displays near my router. I had preferred activities off, toggled it on and then back off but still did not resolve my issue.

Hi there,

@godspeed, @Geno911, our team is already rolling out firmware updates to your Google Nest Wifi devices that should help resolve the issue that you're having. Kindly bear with us, as this may take several weeks to complete. See the new firmware:

  • Nest Wifi router: 14150.882.9
  • Nest Wifi point: 1.56.368671

Best,

Lovely

Has there been any progress on the firmware rollout?    Essentially my entire ring home security network, hue and Feit smart home networks have been nonfunctional, since about a week ago, because they are all on nest mesh router wifi network  and all have trouble connecting to internet  through Att fiber.        It’s really totally unacceptable that a basic function like wifi internet connectivity could take so long for a major wifi hub vendor like Google to fix.

My ticket has been closed but the solution was for replacement routers. Since my brand new routers were still under warranty I returned them and purchased 2 more. My issue still persists. I am still only getting 160 ish speeds 2 feet from my WiFi Pros but when running the test from the home app the speed are at 800-900.
