Nest WiFi Pro huge fluctuations in speed

Smatt22

My new Nest WiFi Pro shows huge fluctuations in speed and latency from one minute to the next on the same device in the same location (iPhone 13 pro or 2022 MBP). I’ve seen it drop from 400Mbps to 2Mbps for no apparent reason. It recovers at some point but it sure is immensely frustrating. Certainly not what I expected when I upgraded from Nest WiFi.

There are a ton of issues with the pro's... just search this forum. Seems they released an Alpha product not ready for primetime. I returned mine.

Thx! Moving all devices to the new network was a major pain, don’t want to give up quite yet. Do u know where I can track firmware updates?

Hi everyone,

The software update is rolling out now. It goes out in waves to devices and everyone will have it within the next few days. It really could land any day and you won't need to do anything to receive the update, it will download and install automatically for you. If you have other questions, let me know.

Thanks,
Mel

I haven’t done any actual testing but download speed does seems more consistent now. It’s interesting that device to main hub connectivity is so much more efficient now with WiFi 6(E) that speeds from main hub->mesh endpoint ->device compared to main hub->device are essentially the same (at least with my setup).

Hey, Smatt22.

I'm happy to hear that things are more stable and consistent. You asked earlier about finding the firmware version. Here are the steps for finding what version you currently have installed on your devices: https://goo.gle/3Enwqxu. If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks,

Jeff
