Nest wifi points adding to Nest Pro

Hi

We have had nest wifi (2nd gen) for a couple of years now and it has been ok. We recently got a new router sent by the internet provider and thought we’d expand our nest wifi and bought another 3 pack - 1 router and 2 points. I removed all the initial wifi and set up a new network with the new nest pro which seems to be ok. However I’m trying to add the old points for full house coverage and I just seem to get as far as getting everything connected and then I get a “Precondition Fail” right at the end.
I’ve done the full reset of the 2nd gen wifi points and removed my Home app and reinstalled it but still the same issue.
any help appreciated

Hello @DavidX

The Nest WiFi Pro does not support adding the older Nest WiFi or Google WiFi units to the network. It uses newer 6GHz radios for clients and the mesh interconnect (in addition to 5GHz and 2.4GHz radios for clients). The older systems only have 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios. You may be able to sell your older system to recoup some of the cost of buying a new Nest WiFi Pro unit or two to expand your new system.
