Next Wifi Pro - weak connection when wired

rattaom

Hi all-

I have 4 Nest Wifi Pro's in my house, all connected over a wired backhaul. One of them is stating a weak connection through the home app even though it's wired??? Any idea why this is happening and what options I have?

Thx

Hello @rattaom

Can you confirm the connection type indicated for that secondary unit shows as "wired" in the Google Home app?

Can you also confirm the secondary units are connected into the primary unit's LAN Ethernet port through an unmanaged Ethernet switch (or switches)?

If so, then running a mesh test may still report a "weak" connection for a secondary when its Ethernet connection is only managing to negotiate and maintain 100Mbps rather than the expected 1Gbps connectivity. I would double-check the cabling and switch port feeding that secondary.

Hi-

Yes, confirmed it's worked and using an unmanaged switch. I have multiple nodes with the same set up, but only this ones shows weak. Will look at cabling and try new ones to see if it resolves.

Thx
