Paused device still shows usage

I have a mesh network with one Gen 2 and three Gen 3 nodes. I found a Ring Doorbell in the devices list of my Google Home iOS app where I have no idea whom it belongs to. I paused the device for several days now, but the paused device shows constant usage of about 100 MB per hour in the "Usage" chart, and no usage in the "Real Time" chart. This is a realistic volume for a Wifi camera, even though my own Nest camera is almost exclusively upload, while this one is evenly split half upload, half download. What's going on with this usage, is the device paused or not?
