Point wifi with no QR code, no set-up numbers and no Ethernet port. What do I do?

I have two new Nest points that had no QR code, have no numbers or codes on the bottom and no ports. Is there anyway to set them up?

Hey, Millerrx.

I'm not sure if you have had a chance to check things out yet, but I wanted to check in to see if you were still having an issue here or if things had been resolved. If you haven't had an opportunity to look into it yet, don't worry. I just wanted to make sure you weren't feeling forgotten.

Thanks.

Sorry but all nest wifi points come with QR codes and numbers on the bottom.  If you have neither..then there is nothing that can be done.  Where did you buy them that they came without anything on them? I would return and get a fresh set if possible !

If you had the routers then you would have a chance 🙂. Are you positive there isn't anything on the bottom of the point ?

Thank you. I thought that may be the answer. Purchased at Best Buy, but discarded all a packaging….an expensive mistake of mine. I’ll start over. Absolutely sure; nothing on the bottom, at all.

Actually, there is a way:

Edit: Or maybe not if your units don't have any setup codes on them.

I don't work for Google.

That is my case, no set up key. It seems as if my two units did not get those final codes printed/added. Thanks for looking into this for me. I’ll buy two more and begin again - with close inspection. 🤗 Enjoy your day.

Hey, Millerrx.

Sorry about the setup issues you're having. Before you buy anything new or toss out what you have, take one last look at the bottom of the points. If you are missing the QR code, that's when you look for the setup code. The code is actually printed, it's engraved into the rubber ring. Since the rubber is a gray color and the numbers are recessed into the rubber, it can be pretty easy to miss them, even with multiple looks. Make sure you have plenty of light and take one more peek.

If those numbers simply aren't there, please let me know and we can see what else you can do.

Thanks.

Jeff,

Thank you very much. I will do that in approx. two weeks, when I am back at that house. I really appreciate your note, advice, and support on this issue.

Jeff,

Thanks so much for following up. I finally got to the house last weekend. Guess what? With two pairs of reading glasses and a flashlight (🤗), I found the code imprinted on the bottom. I got them all set up but now need to adjust things a bit. The mesh test recommended it and they did bog down my signal.

So, thank you for persisting and encouraging me to try again.

Be well.

Hey, Millerrxx.

That's great news that they're working! I'm so happy to hear that. If you need anything else, please feel free to open up a new discussion. As we have our resolution on this one, I'm going to go ahead and close it up.

Thanks!
