Re: Tablo port configuration

Tablo requires 2 ports on my router to be forwarded in order for it to be reachable outside my network. This is what I am having problems with. I need to create 2 forwarding rules using my router’s port forwarding screen.

Hi again,

I will move your post over to the 'Wifi' section of this community forum so it gets better attention. As with all questions, the more relevant information about your issues and the steps you have already tried can help you find the better responses on this community based forum.

Some resources:

General tips:

  • Set DHCP reservation (static IP) for the Tablo device in the Google Home app, before trying to port forward.

Common pitfalls:

  • Avoid double NAT. If the ISP equipment, or any other router for that matter, in front of Nest Wifi is not in bridge mode (or bypass mode), it must be port forwarded too. Else traffic never reaches Nest Wifi.

It a clue what you’re talking about.

I have ATT internet and Google nest. The ATT modem WiFi is turned off because I use the Google nest modem. I have tried everything you have suggested except the NAT bridge because it did not give the option to do that.

Did you port forward the ATT modem/router too? Its' port forwarding rule should then go to the IP address of the main Nest Wifi unit.

@dawsini, chiming in to ensure everything is good here. Have you had the chance to try the suggestion above? If yes, how is it?

Couldn’t understand the last post. It a clue what he was suggesting to do.

Took a while for me to figure it out but I finally got it to work.  Even spent some time on the phone with ATT and that turned out to be a waste of time.  Just needed to use the same ports for the ATT modem as I did for the Goole WiFi.  Thanks for your help.  Cheers...

Hi dawsini,

Awesome — glad to hear that your issue is fixed. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread shortly unless I can help out with anything else.
