I currently have a 4 node, gen #1, Google WiFi network (1 router + 3 access points). As a result of various issues I have ordered a new gen #2 "Nest" WiFi router. My question is if I replace my existing gen #1 WiFi router with the new gen #2 Nest router what should I do with the old gen #1 router? I only need a 4 node system so I'm going to have to replace one of the existing nodes. Should I just sell the old gen #1 router or use it to replace one of my 3 gen #1 access points? Will a gen #2 Nest router connected to the gen #1 router (wirelessly) provide any speed or feature advantages? Yes, I know that it might be useful to save the gen #1 router as a hardwired access point for some future high throughput tasks... but that's not a primary need at this point. Thanks.

The gen #1 points all have 'out' ethernet ports don't they? If so then I don't see much point (scuse the pun) in replacing one with your gen #1 router. If you don't need an extra point in your setup then you could keep it in case one of your points ever fails, they are well out of warranty now so you never know.
