Speed test fails because a large number of Metronet customers cannot connect to Google services

A large number of Metronet (internet provider) customers in MN cannot connect correctly to Google cloud. As a result speed test fails, play store fails, YouTubeTV has buffering issues, etc.  Metronet is telling us this is a Google issue. Anybody know more?

I am having the same exact issue here in Sotuhern MN.  I was told by Metronet that they have a ticket open for this.  Ticket 2999300.  I have not heard anything from Metronet since being told that they are aware of the issue.   Its been almost 2 weeks now.   I cannot connect to anything google via Metronet...

I too am having the same issue with Google services and MetroNet in Southern MN. I know it's not much of a fix, but if you download a free VPN off the play store using your mobile data or download an APK online using wifi, then activate it when using Google services like the play store. it'll work and allow you to update and download apps and allow YouTube to run normally. That's what I've been doing till this is resolved. Caution that a VPN is against the play stores TOS. I haven't experienced any issues though.

Hey, all.

Sorry for the issues you're having with Google Services and your ISP. This is actually the second report of an ISP having issues. I've sent this along to an internal team and I'll share info as soon as I know more.

Thanks.

Hey, everyone.

It's been a while since this popped up. I wanted to see if you were all still having issues or if this cleared up for you. If anyone is still needing help here, please let me know.

Thanks.

Hi, everyone.
As we haven't had any activity here recently I'm going to go ahead and close the thread. If you have more to add, feel free to start a new discussion.
Thanks
