WAN details incorrect

Help!!

Not an expert by any stretch,  but not a dummy either. Have issues with Google Nest Router. All of a sudden stopped working. Have done resets of router and fttp box. Nothing works. Removed router from network amd can't get it back as WAN settings need updating apparently.

Long weekend = no ISP contact.

Any advice would be great.

Cheers

Chester

Hi Chester73,

That certainly isn’t the experience we want you to have, and we apologize for the delay. A few questions: are you using a modem/router combo from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? Which Google/Nest router are we working with? What device are you using to set up your network (iOS or Android)? What is the error message when doing the setup?

You may also try to do a sequential reboot of your entire network and see if that helps.

or

Please perform a 2-minute power cycle on your entire network to re-establish the connection on your connected devices. Here's how:

  1. Disconnect the power from the modem.
  2. Disconnect the Ethernet cable and power cord from the parent point.
  3. Disconnect the power cord from the child points.
  4. Leave everything unplugged for 2 minutes.
  5. Connect the power cord to the modem then to your router and points.

Also, give these steps a try:

  1. Inspect the bottom of your main point for the setup network and setup code.
  2. Go to your phone's settings, then WiFi. Then check if that same setup network will appear as one of the available WiFi networks your phone can connect to.
  3. If already connected, I need you to forget that network and reconnect back.
  4. If not yet, you can connect to it and use the setup code as the password.
  5. Turn off your cellular data and make sure that your Bluetooth and location services are on. Then check if you can still access the Internet while only connected to the setup network.
  6. Reinstall your Google Home app.
  7. Attempt setup.
  8. Try another phone.
  9. If the issue persists, factory reset your device. Take note that this will delete all network data.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Dan
