Hello! Been researching and don’t see a lot of people getting anywhere so I thought I would ask…
I have currently modem, google wifi (3), off of main access point i run a 8 basic switch that feeds computers, nvr, Apple TV’s ,pc with storage and a lot more. 2nd point has Apple TV and Bose sound bar. Third is just for mesh.
my question is I want to upgrade my switch to Poe+ and switch (24 port) so I can finish my hard lines. How can I make the google wifi just broad cast wifi instead of going threw it to feed a switch.
any ideas?
thank you

For wifi/ access point only, you have the option of putting the Google Wifis in bridge mode:
But then you'll loose functionality like:
You'll still need a router, firewall, NAT, DHCP in your setup (what the primary Google Wifi does), how are you solving that? I only see mentions of a PoE switch.
I'd suggest you read up on wired backhaul (https://support.google.com/wifi/answer/7215624?hl=en) and consider having one Google Wifi behind the modem, then a switch, then connect all other gear to that first switch directly, instead of going through the other pucks. But be aware, managed switches + Google Wifi can give you other problems, for instance with STP (spanning tree protocol).

Hi, everyone.
As we haven't had any activity here recently I'm going to go ahead and close the thread. If you have more to add, feel free to start a new discussion.
Thanks
