Why did I need to re-enter my WiFi password after a power outage so my Nest could re-connect to WiFi

Following a several-hour power outage, my Nest required me to re-enter the WiFi password in order for it to reconnect. This really is something that should not be required by today's standards. Also, If I am away from home, there is no way to do this remotely, which defeats the purpose of the wireless feature.

What comes to mind for me, is that your default setting for password saving/storage is wrong.

Just checked all the settings in both the thermostat and the app. Couldn't find any settings related to password saving or storage. Any idea where I would find that setting?
