Wi~Fi pro connection

I just purchased the three pack of the NestWi-Fi pro. Each unit is supposed to be capable of being either a router or a point. The first unit I set up as a router onto my network fairly easily. But when I try to add the other units as points the Google app continues to only recognize them as routers and I am unable to connect them to the mesh. The App wants to connect to their broadcasting Wi-Fi but then indicates there is no connection to the Internet.

I purchased a Pack of 3 and a Pack of 2 Nest WiFi Pro.  Everything work good until i tried to hook up the 5th unit and I keeps stating I am too far from the router.  I'm 3 feet from it.  It says you can connect 5 nodes.  Apparently not.  I factory reset it and tried over and over again.  All my WiFi points say Weak connection in a 3,450 sq ft one story home.  I feel your pain.  No online help and no phone number  to call.  Looks like I have one unit that's a dud.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for letting us know ― let's see what happening.

A quick question: are you selecting the home during the setup process where your main Google Nest Wifi Pro router is set up?

Give these steps a try:

  1. Connect the additional point through an Ethernet cable during the setup process. This can be removed once the setup is completed.
  2. Unplug the access points that are already setup to avoid overlapping Wi-Fi signals during the setup process.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Mel
