Wifi not connecting after pausing devices

Shane-F
Community Member

Hi,

I cannot get internet connection on devices which I have used the pause function on the Google home app.

I have unpaused all the devices and those devices which were paused are not connecting to the internet.

Multiple devices including Windows PC, Android phones are not working.

Hi Shane-F,

Thanks for the update. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with the internet connection on devices on which I have used the pause function. I understand how frustrating it can be when things don't work as expected. But don't worry; help is here. In this case, I recommend that you try some steps for the app:
Reconnect Paused Devices:

  • Use Mobile Data, If possible, turn off Wi-Fi on your phone and use your mobile data to access the Google Home app. Then, resume the paused devices within the app.
  • Use Another Device, If you have another device with the Google Home app, try resuming the devices from that device.
  • Tether a Wi-Fi connection from your phone or use a mobile hotspot. Connect the affected devices to this temporary network and then resume them in the Google Home app.
  • Find Another Wi-Fi Network, If feasible, connect to a different Wi-Fi network (like a neighbor's or a public hotspot) and resume your devices.

2. Restart Network Equipment:

  • Power cycle the modem; power off your modem completely. Wait for 30 seconds, then power it back on and wait for it to re-establish a connection.
  • Power cycle the router; power off your router. Wait for 30 seconds, then power it back on and wait for it to fully restart.

3. Verify Network Settings:

  • Check Wi-Fi Password: Ensure you're entering the correct Wi-Fi password on all affected devices.
  • Forget and Rejoin Wi-Fi: On each device, forget the current Wi-Fi network and then rejoin it by entering the password again.

4. App Troubleshooting:

  • Uninstall the Google Home app from your device(s) and then reinstall it from the app store.

Please keep me posted and let me know how that goes.

Best regards,
Jenny

Thanks,

I have tried some of this stuff but will go through all that you have suggested and hope it works.
