Wifi points do not connect

I have a Nest Wifi Pro that I've been using for about a year. I recently purchased additional Points. When setting up the Points, in the Home app it gets to "Adding Wifi point to your Wi-Fi network" then simply "Something went wrong - try restarting your Wifi point and set it up again." I have tried several times but no success. Can someone please help?

Hi thumbmodel,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues while setting up your additional Wifi points through the Google Home app and received an error message. I appreciate all the efforts you've made to resolve this inconvenience. I'm happy to help!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • What type of Wifi points do you have exactly? Here’s a helpful article about how to identify your Wifi points model.
  • What are the current light colors showing on both your main Nest Wifi Pro router and the new Wifi points?
  • Is your main Nest Wifi Pro network broadcasting a custom network name (SSID) that you set up yourself?
  • What type of mobile device do you have?

Once I have these details, I can assist you better with the specific information.

In the meantime, Visit our Help Center to learn more about Troubleshoot Google Nest Wifi setup issues.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany
