Are you connected by ethernet cable or wirelessly?

---

Here are some things that might help:

1. Make sure any quipment upstream from the main/primary/master Nest Wifi unit is put in bridge mode / bypass mode / passthrough mode to avoid double NAT.

2. Disable all "preferred activities" for Nest Wifi inside the Google Home app:

3. Use an ethernet cable to connect the PS5 to Nest Wifi instead of Wi-Fi: Cable is always better for latency dependent usecases like gaming.

4. If using Wi-Fi is the only option:

  • Placement: Make sure to not put the PS5 too close or too far away from the closest Nest Wifi unit.
  • Avoid interference: Make sure you don't have any other wireless equipment (like wireless home theater solutions, IoT equipment, Bluetooth speakers..) close to neither any of the Nest Wifi units, nor the PS5 unit.

If above things doesn't help: Maybe you can find some other things to try by going back in time (looking at previous threads). Here's a search:

2. Wifi pro only have zoom and team option which is not turned on.

3. Not an option

4. the main wifi pro very close to PS5.

i tested the network speed in PS5 it is very fast. i configured port forwarding it is still the same. connection is really bad.

4. How close? It shouldn't be too close. If it's very close, why not add an ethernet cable from it?

No, about 2m away without wall. Anyway WiFi should work as well. My old WiFi 5 Nokia mesh was good in the same position. Any logs in nest WiFi Pro to see what is happening? What cause the drop connection?

2m sounds good.

There's no logs available for us users. Maybe the PS5 got logs or info on why connection drops?

I'll escalate the thread, hopefully Google can help you out.

Hi angka,

That certainly isn’t the experience we want you to have. A few questions: are you using a modem/router combo from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? Also, do you have any paused devices?

Give these steps a try:

  1. If you're using a modem/router combo, set that to bridge mode to avoid double NAT issues.
  2. Make sure that there is minimal to no interference (concrete, bulletproof glass, metal, mirror, etc.) and the points are no more than two rooms apart.
  3. Remove any special characters in your network name and password.
  4. Turn off IPv6:
    • Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
    • Tap the Wi-Fi coin  and then Settings Settings.
    • Scroll down and tap Advanced networking.
    • Scroll down to IPv6.
    • Toggle the switch off Toggle button off.
  5. Change your DNS server into 8.8.8.8 on the primary and 8.8.4.4 on the secondary server. Hit the save/ floppy disk icon on the upper right.
  6. Unplug the power from your Google Wifi devices for 2 minutes.
  7. If the issue persists, try factory resetting your network. Take note that this will delete all network data.
    • You may skip any step that you’ve done already.

You may also try to do a sequential reboot of your entire network and see if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for helping, olavrb!

Best,

Dan

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your help.

  1. No no double NAT.
  2. PS5 and the main node is only 2m away.
  3. No special character in network name but why would this help? My password need to be secure thus included special character.
  4. IPv6 is off
  5. I am using Telco DNS. All activities are good. Streaming 4k video has no issues. Only playing online games I encountered disconnection
  6. Done this before
  7. This could be my last resort

Hey there angka,

Apologies for the delay.

We appreciate you taking the provided troubleshooting steps. Have you already tried the factory reset? Doing so should revert your Nest device to its default settings, and you need to set it back up to maximize its functions.

Keep us posted.

Thanks,

Dan
