(2021) Google Nest Cam Recording Snapshots

This isn’t about the Nest Secure, but for some reason that’s the only option.

 

With the newest Outdoor Camera, that can be battery or wired, how does the recordings work? If someone walks in front and step out of view in a minute , and I have the recordings at 3 minutes and my camera is wired, will it record for three minutes? Or does it only record what i the motion event is?

We have the Google Nest Camera (Battery). Ours is plugged in all the time with the optional power cable, but we have events set at a maximum of 3 minutes and when we view events in our 24/7 history, the EVENTS are of varying lengths up to 3 minutes, depending on what moved in front of the camera. Since we have 24/7 history (with a Nest Aware Plus subscription), we can of course see what happened next, but the rest is not flagged as part of the "event" in the timeline.
