Another frustrated Yale Lock - Connect Failur

UTFrus64
Community Member

Yale Lock will not connect to Connect.  Have tried a) resetting Connect, b) resetting Yale Lock, c)  4 different plug locations, d) New Home in Nest app, e) connecting through 2.4 Wi-Fi, f) bypassing the qr scan and manually entering code.  Absolutely nothing allows these items to connect.  Regretting this purchase unless you can help

BTW, I have Google Fiber internet and mesh Wi-Fi.  You would think that of all routers there would be no problem with this one.  But no.

Hi folks,

UTFrus64m, checking in — I just wanted to make sure if you’ve seen User8675309’s response. Let me know if you still need help.

I appreciate the help, User8675309.

Thanks,

Hello Jan Thaddeus,  Tried the suggestion below but still no connection.  The Connect is only five feet away and it pulses during the process, but still fails to connect.

Did you reset by taking batteries out and putting back in?  Or did you take batteries out hold reset button on back (while still plugged into keypad) and out batteries back in while you wait for chimes and resetting notification?

I just had to do this as I changed my wifi name.

I attempted to do what you recommended, but not sure what ‘while still plugged into keypad’ is referring to.  Still no connection.

When you take the two screws out behind batteries, you can detach the housing, there is a wire that connects through the door to the keypad if your remember when you assembled and installed it (if you didn't install watch a YouTube video on installing it).

I didn’t install this as it is a new door and door guy installed the lock. Are you suggesting disconnecting the wire and reconnecting?

No.

I'm saying make sure to not disconnect the wire while trying to press the reset button, also you need to put batteries back in while pressing reset button. I think it's like 10 or 20 seconds until the factory reset chimes happen.

Good luck!

Hey all,

@UTFrus64, how’s it going? Were you able to try the steps shared by User8675309?

@User8675309, thanks for your continued assistance.

@Lighthearted, I appreciate your efforts here. Let’s further check this.

You can also give these steps a try:

  1. Make sure Bluetooth is on. Turn Bluetooth off, then back on to refresh the connection.
  2. Ensure that IPv6 is enabled on the access point. Test it here: Google's IPv6 test.
  3. Pair your Nest Connect to a 2.4 GHz WiFi frequency if it’s available in your WiFi network.
  4. Make sure your phone is on the same Wi-Fi network as the selected network for the Connect.
  5. It should not be connected to any Bluetooth devices.
  6. Cellular data should be turned off.
  7. On iOS devices with iOS 14 or later, ensure that Local Network Access is enabled for the Nest app.
    • On your iOS device's home screen, tap Settings.
    • Tap Privacy > Local Network.
    • On the list of apps, turn on Local Network Access for the Nest app.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

JT

Hello. I’ve been out of town but back on the job today to try to get this connected

So here is the latest.  I have google fiber and I would think setting up a nest product would be easy and fast.  Not so.  I set my phone to my 2.4 network.  I start over with a new setup on my nest Connect.  It sees my network but will not connect to it.  “Something Went Wrong”

I am going to verify that password now.  This is such a nightmare, it’s hard to believe.

Final update.  I started over again from scratch.  Probably the 20th time I have done this.  Deleted Connect and added again.  Linked to my home Wi-Fi.  Tried to link the Nest lock to the Connect.   It connected.  WTF!

I’ve reset it 20 times and it cannot find this  lock T026 code.  I was able to reset and reinstall another lock in the house without issue.
it says I should press the button on the inside of the door and it will say ready.  That’s what it did for the other lock.  This lock just clicks several times.
