Connect AND Thermostats

For the last few weeks, my Nest thermostats have been randomly disconnecting for hours and days at a time.  Hours on the phone with customer service and now I’ve just accepted that they suck and fail on a regular basis. They need to be manually reset each time. 
Now, for the last week, my Nest Connect has decided to just stop working and will not reconnect to Wi-Fi. I’ve reset everything five times, rest back to factory settings, removed from the app account, removed from my Wi-Fi history, cycled power… nothing. 
Come on, Google.  Do better. Fix this nonsense.

A few questions: what is the color of the status on the Nest Connect after the factory reset? Are you able to add Nest Connect back to the Nest app? If not, was there an error message?
