Nest Connect cannot turn on Bluetooth Pairing Mode

I have two yale locks and one Nest Connect, they were fine until I changed my wifi system. I cannot change the wifi connect on the nest connect device, so I removed the next connect from my nest app and decided to do a factory reset.

After I did a factory reset on my Nest Connect, I cannot find it in my phone Bluetooth list, I have tried two phones, none of them can detect this nest device.

I also tried press and hold the button on the Nest Connect for 10 sec, the LED will not become green after light pulses blue.

If your Nest Connect device is not entering Bluetooth pairing mode, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Ensure Compatibility: Make sure that the device you are trying to pair with your Nest Connect is compatible with it. Check the Nest Connect's documentation for a list of compatible devices.

Reset Nest Connect: Try resetting your Nest Connect to its factory settings. To do this, press and hold the button on the bottom of the Nest Connect for about 10 seconds until the light starts flashing. This will clear any previous pairing information.

Proximity: Ensure that the device you are trying to pair is within close proximity to the Nest Connect. Bluetooth has a limited range, so the devices should be close to each other.

Bluetooth Settings: Double-check the Bluetooth settings on your device. Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled and that the device is set to discoverable or "pairing mode."

Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart of both the Nest Connect and the device you're trying to pair can resolve connectivity issues.

Firmware and Software Updates: Check if there are any firmware or software updates available for your Nest Connect. Updating the firmware can often resolve connectivity issues.

Check for Interference: Nearby electronic devices and Wi-Fi networks can interfere with Bluetooth signals. Ensure that there are no strong sources of interference nearby.

Hi @pronasit,

Thank you for your feedback.

I have tried connecting Nest Connect with both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 14, and both of them are on the compatibility list.

I attempted to reset the Nest Connect to its factory settings, and that's when the problem began.

I also rebooted my iPhone, but I still can't find the Nest Connect in my Bluetooth list. I'm curious about what the LED looks like when Bluetooth pairing is enabled.

Hi folks,

@czhang17, thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear that you can't connect your Nest Connect to Bluetooth. This is because you just have to open your Bluetooth connectivity on your phone and proceed with setting up your Nest Connect on the Nest app. Also, follow these:

  1. Ensure the device is awake and in ready mode.
  2. Make sure Bluetooth is on. Turn Bluetooth off, then back on to refresh the connection.
  3. Put the mobile device on airplane mode, then turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  4. Quit and restart the Nest or Google Home app.
  5. Restart the phone or tablet.
  6. Move all devices being used for pairing closer to the router.
  7. Restart the router.

Let us know how it goes.

I appreciate your input, @pronasit

Best,

Zoe
