Nest Door Locks going offline and online suddenly at 0800 and 1800 for several days.

For the past two days, all three Nest locks in my house have suddenly started going offline, then online, then offline, then back online every day at 0800 and 1800.  After they come back online they no longer auto lock nor log any unlocks or locks until the batteries are removed and replaced. The locks have been installed for several years and not had this problem before.  Batteries have been replaced in all the locks, but I wouldn't expect it to be a battery problem since it's happening to all the locks at the same time.

Hi there,

I can see how this could be frustrating to experience, and I would love to look into this further for you. If you haven't already, you can learn here how to factory reset your Yale lock, which may help to reset issues it may be having. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best regards,

Brad

While that suggestion would make sense if I was having a problem with only one lock, I would need to hear a valid, logical explanation for factory resetting 3 different locks all experiencing the same issue at the same time.

Logic tells me it’s something central to all 3, like the Nest Connect.

If you believe that this lies with the Nest Connect, please try and restart or factory reset the Nest Connect by following the guide here. Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Brad

Hi there,

Let me know if you need anything from me, but I am just seeing how the conversation is going. We'll leave this thread open for a little longer for follow-up questions and concerns.

I'm not in the country where my residence is, and I won't be for a few months, so I won't be able to do any definitive testing until I return.  The locks appear to be working close to normal again, but occasionally the Connect will report that it is using battery power even though it's connected into the wall socket, and some of the locks are still randomly going offline and coming back online after a few minutes, at random intervals.  Sometimes it's 10 hours, sometimes it's 12 hours, sometimes it's 9 hours.

Just an example:

Wednesday

Back Door and Front door:

Offline at 0634, online at 0636.

Back Door only:

Offline at 1540, online at 1545.

Garage Door only:

Offline at 1804, online at 1806.

Thursday

Back Door, Front Door:

Offline at 0633, online at 0636.

Friday

Front Door:

Offline at 0617, online at 0626.

Saturday

Back Door:

Offline at 1013, online at 1023.

You'll need to wait until you're at the device then to troubleshoot further. There is little to no support you can provide from afar. Please let us know when you'll be back to the device. We'll leave this thread open for a few more days.

Best regards,

Brad

The thread would have to stay open until mid-May, which is when I would be home next to troubleshoot the issue.

If that's the case, we'll close this thread and when you're ready, you can create a new thread and we can go from there. We'll close this thread down in 24 hours, but it will remain open until then.

Best regards,

Brad
