Nest Guard notification

Is there a way to have a push notification when the Nest Guard senses motion before it sounds the alarm?

Would be nice to determine if the alarm is actually needed before it starts blaring.

Thanks for reaching out! Got it, let's check this out. You can absolutely receive push notifications on your phone when your Nest Guard senses motion. 

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  • Go to Settings > Notifications > Nest > Allow Notifications > Toggle Off/On.
  • On Android: Settings . Notifications > Nest > Toggle Off/On.
  • On the Nest App: Nest App > Settings > Notifications > Nest Guard > Notification type > Toggle Push notification.

The Nest app is already set up for notifications and I do get them. But I want to get a notification when the Nest Guard senses motion. Right now, it will sense motion, but I will only get notified on my cell once the alarm has started going off.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying that. Your Nest Guard doesn't have a capability to send push or email notifications when it senses a motion. Nest Cameras have one of these features. We hear you — I'd suggest you send feedback about this using the Google Home app. Here's how.
